P&W has an impeccable, excellent, high-quality safety record. They inspect the line 4 to 5 times a week.. When accidents tend to happen, it happens. The first ethanol train derailment was caused simply by a break on the rail. The 2nd derailment can be anything of nature., possibly another broken rail.. It can be caused by “stress or fatigue” in which the rail is over 60 years old. If Gov. Rell wants to upkeep P&W mainlines to top-notch condition, then, stop spending money on useless stuff..Help the Railroad.. Give them Continuous Welded Rail along their mainlines, then there will be NO derailments.. –Former P&W freight customer in CT, happily satisfied with their service
