If this moron’s suit wasn’t so pathetic it would be comical. First, the SC finds reverse discrimination against whites. Then, the black comes back to whine about the weighting of the written portion of the exam discriminating against him. If it was found that no blacks and only two Hispanics could have passed it, maybe that says something over their ability to READ THE QUESTIONS, COMPREHEND THE MATERIAL, AND EXPRESS THEIR RESPONSES. To “dummy down” the exam to compensate for their deficiencies is just stupid. They need to improve their skill sets if they want to compete. If they graduated from high school (which is no longer a major accomplishment) or earned a GED, they should be capable of reading and writing. If not…….too bad.

    I totally agree with you.

It seems like it is a never ending loop and who is to blame for it. Why we all are by letting the Government pass laws for Polictical Correctness and Equeal Opportunity. I agree with Equeal Opportunity, providing both sides of the playing field are equeal. The way the Government set it up, though, both sides are not equeal. I worked in a very hazardous job that not only required knowledge of the job, but to be able to react immediately if something went wrong. The company I worked for spent thousands upon thousands of dollars to comply with their laws of percentages. In a crew of twenty, by the time the probation was over, there may only be four left. Of those four, maybe, just maybe one would be a minority.

Now, I am not downing the minorities, my lead man was one. When he hired on, I knew that I had found someone that wanted to get higher on the ladder, not a handout. After several weeks, I did not have to really do my job, he made sure that it was done and the really strange thing about it was that he knew the job, knew how to react and in a possible L&D situation, he was right there. We were in several of those. He was also concerned about the workers on my crew. Their problems became his. With his help, we turned a bunch of employees into a sister and brotherhood.

As for the rest that I was forced to take, it took about six weeks, before I was able to weed them off the crew and onto someone else or out the gate.

What I found out was that when hired, they knew that it was a Government Requirement and they would push the system and when the system pushed back, they would start their screaming. Why, because they knew they could scream discrimination, and basically keep their job while it was investigated. And while it was investigated, they antagonized everyone there. You could give them an assignment to do and they would give you that BS look just daring you to do something about it. The only advantage that the company found was to give one an assignment and make sure that it was given in front of several people. Then upon refusal to do it, you could fire them for insubordination or if they did not do the assignment as specified or up to quality control or assurance, you could bust them down through the ranks where it cut their pay as being unqualified to do the work.

I had to do it both ways several times. The insubordination fire worked the best, as in the industry that I worked in, that followed them worse than failing a drug test, which is a whole new different subject for the minorities.
