It is appropriate to recognize the pain and suffering of the 911 responders. But, do we also recognize the pain and suffering of our soldiers and their families who have endured unspeakable losses while fighting for our freedom?

I don’t see or hear of any widows or maimed soldiers being awarded large sums of money for their losses. Our treatment of these heroes should be at least of equal importance to our society.

This settlement was made because the catastrophic health conditions of first responders that worked at ground zero were not being covered or not being covered fully.

I am first to support our military. I have many familiy and friends in the service. The government already provides guaranteed benefits to soldiers that are injured and to families of soldiers that are killed.

So, how much funding is coming from the countries of origin of the terrorists? Surely they are ultimately responsible!
