These women know what happens when you jump around men in bikinis or even short shorts. He shouldn’t have raped her granted, but #1-why did it take so long to report him & what was she doing in the cab with him? #2-why do you let someone else touch you? & #3-you knew it was a sexually charged enviroment when you started. If you decide to use your body to make money, either be prepared to stand up for yourself or allow yourself to be used. Now they figure they’ll get rich really quick. ridiculous.

Agree with NSBIMB – 100% and I’m a woman – Grant it, it never should have involved a rape by any means – a separate issue all together – however, they all
    Freely chose to work there
Knew what the “atmosphere” was when they agreed to accept (assume) the position
Weren’t shy about having men slobber all over them
Obviously had a little “exhibitionist” in them and enjoyed the attention
Most likely made a boat load of money on tips based on how far they were willing to go to present their assets

It’s all fun and games until someone puts out an eye…

As far as reporting the rape – They were either traumatized (Hey.. I watch Law&Order SVU) or something happened that the guy didn’t pay any attention to her afterwards and she was P-O’d No one will ever know the real story.

PS Next time someone asks if you want to work at The Hottest Place On Earth and put on a bikini and parade around a bunch of drunken men in a Bikini – be prepared to take what’s coming to you and stop whining.

I agree with all that these women knew what they were getting into. If they didn’t like the work, they had the option to quit and go elsewhere. It was their choice. You can’t force every employer to act like you think they should. It’s an imperfect world. Getting oggled is the price you pay for making big tips that you never pay taxes on.

As for the rape….repulsive. However, it occured outside the workplace and you have to wonder what the woman was thinking getting into a cab with the guy she knew was a jerk. It’s also hard to believe the cabbie just continued to drive if the woman was sreaming and kicking in the back.

Incomplete reporting again. The lawsuit declares that Rakis’s relentless sexual harassment escalated into rape after a pre-opening party in 2006, when he jumped into the cab of former floor manager Giulietta Consalvo. Rakis allegedly threw money at the driver during the assault and said, “Keep driving, buddy,” leaving her at her apartment “appearing drugged and disoriented.” Rakis begged Consalvo not to tell anyone: “I went to my priest this weekend. Please don’t tell anybody. It was the alcohol.” According to the Post, he also added, “I used to be a very bad person, but my wife turned me around. Please think about my wife,” who was pregnant at the time.
She did not know he was jerk. She did not know how the place would be run, she did not get into the cab with the rapist, and according to the complaint, she’d been drugged. The girls are very young and are placed in a dorm where they live two to a room.
I’m actually ashamed that you guys are probably in the same industry as me.

I feel really sorry for the lady who got raped. However, like Dread pointed out, if it happened in the cab…not sure I believe it was a rape…These ladies shouldn’t have taken a job where you get paid to serve food and drink in a bikini. Sounds like a cross between Hooters and a strip club.
