Pennsylvania Ex-Judge Spent Insurance Money on House, Hot Tub

    This isn’t about how much he spent nor on what, but on the fact he was unjustly enriched by falsifying an insurance claim.

    I agree the Max – the issue isn’t how he spends the money (which after the settlement is his money to spend as he chooses) but whether the claim was inflated.

    The claim was probably thoroughly investigated before a settlement was reached. If it wasn’t, was that the Judge’s fault?

    What was he supposed to do with the money?
    Perhaps the hot tub eases chronic pain from the accident…..maybe the house was fitted with special ramps, doors, etc. in the event he becomes wheel-chair bound.

    But mostly, after the settlement the money became his to spend as he pleased.
