Lastbat & Mary B, your comments strike close to home. I can’t mention the name but my client (major sound equipment/speaker manufacturer based in US) was sued and ended up settling for roughly $1mm. Defense costs doubled that amount.
The argument: speaker covers and other sound equipment contributed to toxicity of smoke.
Incredible. We were happy to settle for that amount & umbrella carriers also breathed a sigh of relief since it stayed in the primary cover. There was little logic involved, just emotion and greed.
