I have a very close friend whom I see at least once a week who is 82 years old. Her son is an MD. He gave up on practicing medicine in New York state 3 years ago because he could no longer afford to pay his medical malpractice insurance premium. He has never been accused of malpractice.

They better appeal. Stupid lawsuit and a stupid pltf. This country and the legal system is an embarrassment to the rest of the world.

On the contrary. I spent nearly 40 years as a plaintiff’s trial attorney, with about 10 of those years trying medmal cases. I currently conduct focus grps and mockl trials and find that jurors are not giving away the store, but they are intelligent, thoughtful and reasonable and they bsolutely have reached the point that all of us need to take greater responsibility for our own actions. What would you take (in dollars) to avoid this happening to you or yours??
