I’d like to say we need to trust our employees, and that by displaying trust we will get better employees.

Then I read something like this article.

It could be worse. A City of Boston fire inspector was arrested just last week for smoking dope, in uniform, in a department vehicle, with two of his buddies. Bags of weed and a large sum of cash were in the car as well. Meanwhile, the Firefighters union is wrangling with the mayor, who wants to institute random drug-testing!

A good job is something to be valued and not abused. These morons deserve to be fired for abusing the freedom their employer gave them. There are plenty of other people in the job market who would like to have those jobs. I’m surprised they don’t belong to a union that would find some way to excuse their blatant stupidity.

I’m sure they’re in a union, but sometimes even unions get smart and know when to leave well enough alone.

Why couldn’t they just find a blog to comment on?
