She does, after all, provide entertainment for the masses. And there really are a lot of CEO’s that aren’t worth what they get. Don’t forget the people that actually do the work.

I don’t have a problem with a $4m settlement for gross negligence resulting in wrongful death. Hell, I’ll even give you $10m in that case.

My problem is that the epoxy manufacturer did not exercise gross negligence, they sold a product rated for one use which was then used for a different purpose. That’s like suing Lays potato chips because you got into an accident when your car was not able to be stopped by a pretzel being used as a brake pad.

Further, this $4m settlement is the FIRST of about a dozen other suits the lawyers have filed.

If $4m starts the healing how much will it take for the family to take a vacation and smile again? $30m? $60m? $100m?

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Ed Rust Jr. got a $5.26 million raise. He earned $11.66 million in 2006 with a base salary of $1.77 million and results-based bonus of $9.89 million, the statement said. Rust made $6.4 million in 2005 and $5.5 million in 2004. So why is it this pig can make this or think he sould .He,s worth million,s oh want he was born in to it. . BUT someone life is over and you think 6 million is to much..

Anon is right. The construction company that installed the tiles and didn’t follow the weight rating information on the epoxy is 100% at fault.

Also I believe the settlement is fair. It is near impossible to put a $ figure on a life.

If anyone comes up with a real schedule as to how much each individual is worth I would love to see it. Until then, stop complaining that a settlement over the loss of a life is too much.
