ok lh, what the hell did we do 10-15 years ago and longer when cell phones did not exist? Did we not drive then? The drivers who use their cell phone while driving need to be plucked from their cars and planted on the side of the road.
only outlaws will text two handed. Lets outlaw application of makeup, smoking, coffee drinking, talking on the phone, eating, reading the paper/magazine/Louis La’Mour, changing clothes, slapping children (feel free to chime in). Or we can just say if you hurt someone while doing any or all of this, we’ll call it negligent and charge you accordingly. I know on an intellectual level we can spell out every single malfeasance a human could perpetrate, but isn’t it easier to just charge them WHEN they cause a problem?
I think you all missed the most important part of this story. It only applies to 2 handed text messaging or emails. If I can still send a text message with one hand I am not breaking the law. Please explain how this will be enforced? “No officer my other hand was not helping me type it was holding the steering wheel.” Next will be a ban on text messaging while using 2 eyes. If you only use one eye for texting and one eye for driving you will be legal. Come on this is a joke to waste more time and taxpayers money. Lets accomplish something worthwhile!!!
i believe there should be absolutly NO txting! and i think its good they are doing some about it because if we stop it now and NOT “when” its a problem then we are doing something good! if we wait till its a problem then what are you going to tell the mother of the person who got hit because some stupid kid was txting and not watching the road! how many ppl do you want to get hurt before you consider it a problem??
