Fix it? Why? This eysore should have been demolished when the Trade Center rubble was being cleaned up. Instead, it’s been allowed to stand, draped in a black mesh covering, as a goulish reminder of the tragedy. Instead of throwing good money after bad, get rid of it. It’s almost as big an embarassment to Manhattan as the bickering that prevented any meaningul progress to made for six years.
The building should have been repaired & cleaned up within a month of 9/11, there was nothing wrong with it, it received no structural damage other than a beam which broke some windows and dust.
This is classic government incompetence making a mountain out of a mole hill and killing a few firefighters in the process.
