again, i remember a case a couple of months ago where a judge was creating a frivilous lawsuit and in the end; it backfired for the pants that was supposedly lost/ruined at the dry cleaners. judges should be more aware of what they are doing. they know we hold them at a higher standard. but even though they hold that job, they need to be serving the same jailtime as any other person whom committed the crime. no leniency! jail and not sitting at home!
Wait. I want to put my name in for the next polital criminal to retire with a pension & benefit! It sure beats working for a living. What sort of example are these people setting??? Above the law, beyond reproach and sitting on a large retirement nest egg.
Boy, am I in the wrong line of business. When I reitre, I will be lucky if Social Security is still there. My $$ will come from my hard earned dolars being invested in a 401k (Don’t get me started on the mortgage problems & stock market). That’s it for me. So much for being an honest hardworking person.
what?! how dare he take advantage of the system and then milk it?! he’s suspended, so why shud he still be allowed to retire? if it was the common individual, we can’t say, “hold please, i need to retire so that my family can have funds.” why shud he be any different.
as far as china, um…do we cover him w/lead paint and then recall him? LOL!
Like corruption doesn’t happen every day in the US Judicial System??? They’d like to say that it doesn’t happen, but it’s really a paint brush affect. No, he should NOT be allowed to retire with benefits, but probably will, which is what we pay for, with the messed up society we have. ugh….maybe China has a better idea?
When he is convicted, his pension should be taken away completely as stated in the article. His salary should be taken away as well. Or should we just give him leathers, sand & a marathon? (Had to use it again, it was great!!!)
Doesn’t it make you sick that everytime some political ***** gets caught with his/her hand in the cookie jar they’re allowed to escape by simply retiring, with full pension benefits? Must be the law of the jungle so to speak. Everyone seems to concur that they should forfeit their pensions and benefits, but we all know that will never happen. There’s a double standard in this country. One for lawyers and politicians, and one for everyone else. Problem is, many of the politicians are lawyers as are all of the judges. The genie is out of the bottle and ain’t goin’ back in. Just try to pull one away from the public money trough and watch them scream. Too bad there’s no effective way to organize the public to challenge this paradigm.
The suspension means very little about honesty and integrity. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court certainly must realize that Judge Joyce’s character naturally spilled over to his work on the Pennsylvania Superior Court, yet no investigation into his judicial activities was ordered or even suggested by anyone. If you employed a bookkeeper and knew he was indicted for a litany of serious crimes while working for another employer, the first thing you would do is to thoroughly check out your own books.

He’s going for sympathy with the jury. “Look, I had to retire over this.” Take it like a man, Joyce!
But, once again I say, too bad he is not living in CHINA..
They truly do have a great way of dealing this such trash..
