This guy is a disgrace to his profession and should be held to a higher standard than John Q. Public. He held himself out as an honorable person who would respect the law. In addition to losing his position, he should have to return his settlement monies. Of course, we all know that once you’re feeding in the Public trough you won’t be held accountable. He’ll fade into the woodwork with his money and retirement intact.
5 MPH accident and you mean to tell me that a bump is worth all that money. that just show you how claim adjusters just don’t use common sense. Case studies shows that accidents like with one would not even leave a scratch on the bumper. If the insurance company paid then that’s on them. People with serious injuries does not see this amount of money. Insurance Fraud Does not pay.
The judge should go to jail. Policy holders are paying higher premium cause of this. He should made a prime example for the simple fact he is a judge. I feel people like him should walk around with a sign stating “I committed fraud, I cause your insurance premium to be high” for ten years.
if you want to read something scary, go to the Insurance Journal for 6/13/07 to the east section under ‘FBI/IRS probe of judge and read the comments of local attorneys who came to this judges defense and were incredulous that anyone would have the audacity to question the integrity of a judge. This post is absolutely incredible. This is where we are as a country. Unbelievable.
No wonder, these judges sit on the bench and see all this money being awarded to “victims”. They want to cash in on it. Judges salaries are not all that great – they say
Maybe you have no claims experience Roots but on claims like this the adjuster is always skeptical, investigates the “injury” and usually follows up with sub-rosa. If the carrier/adjuster decides to deny the injury claim, 9 times of of 10 they come back with an atty and file suit. At this point the carrier needs to decide if best (cost efficient) to litigate and try to defense the case (almost impossible thanks to bleeding heart juries) or to settle. Obviously this settle way out of normal bounds and thanks to the many red flags this fraudlent POS was caught. Ah claims…those were the good days….
