    Should have taped him to the wall instead. Would probably not hurt his back that way.

    Something sounds fishy here. If it was a practical joke why did the victim stress out? Were the “pranksters” laughing when they did this or were they threatening further harm?

    Also, a back injury from getting duct taped? How can this happen if you are healthy – I can’t see it unless you are fearing for your life and straining to free yourself.

    We are not getting the whole picture here. Either the victim was under threat of more serious harm than a prank, something happened in addition to what we have here or he already had some level of back injury.
    This guy is/was a refinery worker, generally they are pretty tough. I just can’t see how something like this leads to PTSD & major back problems.

    Having been on the giving end of a duct taping many, many years ago I can attest to the fact that the person being taped does not quietly lay there while being taped. The person we taped fought violently to avoid being taped. A back injury can easily occur in this type of ‘prank’.
