    Fireman’s Fund did withdraw previously from Massachusetts personal auto market in the mid-1980s. They re-entered that market several years later.

    If I recall correctly, didn’t the Fund exit from Mass Personal Auto back in the early 80’s? The proposed withdrawal threat should not come as a surprise to anyone, especially those who lived through this event before.

    FFIC is truly the stereotypical example of a company that changes for the sake of change. Regardless of the strategy, those guys would do better if they just stuck to one plan of attack rather than change every 18 months.
