Dollar a Day Insurance in NJ? It is NOT FAIR and the state should be RESPONSIBLE! My son’s car was rear-ended by a driver with dollar a day insurance. It wasn’t until this incident that we learned that such insurance even existed! This insurance LEGAL in NJ only pays medical compensation. As a result, my son was forced to purchase a used car with the little bit of savings he had while the other party JUST WALKED AWAY scott free! Is this hat NJ is doing to its motorists? Is it fair? If the state requires minimum liability, then this dollar a day insurance should not exist unless the state provides liablility coverage/compensation to those involved in accidents with policy holders under this type of insurance.

First off, it clearly states in the initiative that this insurance was developed for low income households and those who may become uninsured due to non payment of premium. Then, in the same juncture, the initiative states, ONLY those families receiving FEDERAL MEDICAID are allowed to apply. Furthermore, the initiative is negligent to the laws MINIMUM required insurance which is LIABILITY. The Dollar-A-Day insurance is pain bull crap. Its basically a waste of money towards insurance that is meaningless unless you plan on killing yourself or someone else. Besides that, there is no liability involved whatsoever. NOT FAIR. I wonder who’s microphone McGreevey was singing into when he mysteriously POPPED up with plan?
