I can hear the personal injury attorneys crying from here. I applaud the families for coming to their senses. It is unfortunate that 3 officers were murdered by some piece of human garbage. The county had no duty to do anything to afford them protection in a commercial establishment they were using as an office. What else could/should have been done? Maybe the officers not being so relaxed and laid back that they made themselves an easy target. They were all trained,experienced, and armed.
The purpose of the suit was intended to correct the courts and county proceedures because Clemmons had been released after making clear threats to do just what he did.
