Anyone else notice how so many folks speaking on behalf of the “authorities” in this matter have tiptoed around the involved developer-perpetrator in this debacle? In fact, this outfit should be drummed out of the state for even proposing such an atrocity. Think they might have derived their audacity from well placed “connections” among local politicos and bureaucrats? Or is it just me?

Let them build this development, when the storms hit, they can have long barrier islands instead of tall ones. Should be a great foundation for rebuilding the islands.

“This encouraging news clearly shows that irresponsible dense overdevelopment on storm-prone barrier islands that overstresses infrastructure is unacceptable”

I cant thing of anything more irresponsible than to have MOBILE HOMES situated in a hurricane prone area like this. I’m sure the new structures would have been much more apt to survive a bad hurricane.

Oh Well, I guess we won’t have 500 new millionaires at the casino’s or bingo halls.

Anyone want to buy a condo unit, below appraised value?
