#4 – Marco Rubio and Ken Pruitt — Dumb enough to listen to State Farm and Allstate lobbying for expanded government reinsurance program, only to find out these companies continued to drop tens of thousands of policies after lawmakers gave them what they wanted. Now, these same companies are trying to make chumps out of Federal lawmakers. Hutzpa!

I would suggest that the State of Florida deny St Farm the right to offer insurance on autos, life, valuable articles, excess liability, etc. If they won’t insure the home, they shouldn’t be allowed to insure anything in Florida.

I’m not surprised either. This issue is not going to get better until the insurance regulators step in and tell these carriers that they can’t do this. It can’t always be a win/win situtation for the company. They are going to have to pay claims sometimes. And lets not forget that refusing to write policies in specific areas is redlining. That’s not aloud.

You call a company enough bad names and treat them like garbage, and you are surprised they don’t want to insure your crummiest properties?

How stupis is the bureau in FL?

InsGrl, perhaps we should stop Blockbuster and Kroger from doing business in Florida as well since they don’t want to insure homes on coastal area’s?? Whats with the logic that an insurance company has to take every risk at a price determined not by the free market or sound pricing judgements but set by a third party. I think the simple solution would be to go somewhere else if you don’t like their way of doing business.

Bunch of cry babies! The company has a right to make a profit. Stop looking to the government to fix everything for you. State Farm is only one of hundreds of companies in Florida.
