Gotta agree with the agent, why would he advise someone not to buy a flood insurance policy. They are one of the easiest to service, the premiums are high enough so that a decent commission is made. I have heard agents sympathize with clients when flood insurance coverage is discussed, but never heard one recommend against the coverage. That decision should be the clients.
I am so filled to the brim with attorney\’s and their shenanigans!!!! It would take an idiot agent to advise anyone not to buy flood insurance. Plus I\’ve never met an agent that would wave away any commission that is as easy to service as the Federal flood insurance.
If it were me I would see if it is feasible to sue the attorney\’s that brought this case against them. Maybe more of us should take such actions. Make the attorney\’s E&O so darn high that they stop all this BS.
My brother in law is a corporate attorney and is very ashamed of the road his brethren have taken.
Maybe we need a form of English justice where the loser in a case pays the winners attorney\’s fees, and if they can\’t pay it, the losing attorney has to. Maybe this would stop the BS suits.
I agree with all except the statements that no agent would ever not sell a flood policy. There is an agent right across the street from me that I know for a fact told one of my clients she didn\’t need flood insurance because she wasn\’t in a flood zone! I called to get clarification, for example thinking he meant to say she didn\’t need flood insurance because the bank didn\’t require it. But he admitted it and justified it by saying it\’s not in a flood zone so the flood chances were very low, and the companies never pay out much on the claims anyway. Crazy!
P.S. – I wrote the flood insurance and took the home and auto from him. .
I have to admit, if someone comes in for liabilty insurance on a motorcycle I tell them they dont need it. I cant make any money off that stuff you know?
my homewners insurance agent told me i could not get flood insurance because i did not live in a flood zone also i didnot qualify for fema coverege either because i did not live in a flood zone
