    Why should the legislature be allowed to modify the terms of a legal contract? I understand Katrina is very tragic. Unfortunately, if the legislature can change the rules at any time, insurance company actuaries should be pricing in risk for legislative change.

    In California the courts were allowing claims to be filed 10 years after the Northridge earthquake.

    True exadjuster but California law is very different from Louisiana law.
