If Mike Geeslin was truly interested in protecting the consumers of Texas he would look at the policies and procedures of his predecessor, Jose Montemayor.
And ignore every single bit of it.
After 6 years at the helm of the Texas Department of Insurance the only think Montemayor can claim is higher rates and less coverage.
Gov. Perry has appointed a young commissioner. hopefully he will look after consumer interest as much as he does insurance industry.
There is a dire need for standardizing to some degree the policies, terms and conditions.
How is an individual supposed to understand the intricate language and terms.
eg
Out of pocket max (in small print it says”in addition to deductible)
Max per member (but really they mean per family).
The fact that such distortions are allowed is a testimony to how much the commisioner is working for the consumer.
Please Mr. Commissioner work for us also.
Thanks
