at least one political party dares to stand up for the working man. Maybe if Dubya would have gotten his hands dirty working labor for just one day in his privilege filled lifetime, he’d understand why it is incumbant upon government to protect workers, rather than protecting corporate profits.

Rosie, your posts are so intensly stupid and predictable. Both major parties are bought and paid for by business and special interest groups. The Democrats simply are also in debt to the labor unions. Whatever the unions want is what is pushed for whether it’s actually for the workers or not. The workers themselves have little or no say about the political causes their leaders push. By the way, is this the same Democratic party that fought for slavery, fought against the changes in civil rights legislation in the early 60’s and has a major leader who is a former Klan member? If Lyndon Johnson hadn’t had the support of the Republicans in the 60’s he would have had little progressive legislation passed. Both parties have sold their souls to big money and special interests. Stop being so ignorant about the real world. You can’t be as dumb as your posts make you appear. You have to be pulling our legs.

Love most of your posts auntie. you should not have mentioned what you did in this post though because it shows the downhill slide of the once great republican party and it also shows that the once “bad” democratic party is now a leading factor in civil rights, equality for all Americans and “the little person” while the republican party is now just a mouthpiece for the religious wackos. I do agree with you that both parties have been bought (and sold).

here’s a fact. Over 3,500 American soldiers killed, over 25,900 wounded since Bush’s war on Iraq began.
But oil profits are up up up.

I will still vote Republican because they are a little closer to my views than the Democrats. But, congress in general earns no respect from me on either side of the aisle. I have been hearing about surveys that show congress with a lower approval rating than Bush and trial lawyers. They deserve it. I can’t find anyone in the legislature that genuinely represents what I believe in any more. I have had the process of getting a bill approved explained to me by an insider and it’s appalling. The staff writes the legislation and the senator or representative doesn’t even know or care about the wording. Just what they can bargain for in special deals for themselves. Anything to get and retain power and privalege. Sorry, now I’m starting to sound like one of those nuts that regularly post on this site, but I am really concerned about the direction or lack of direction of this country.

I was talking about a fact that might have some vague relevance to the subject, not the lunatic fringe talking points.
