There is a company that could help with these numbers and also reduce the time it takes to get these claims closed. A new company called Scope Catastrophe is offering to completly change the claims industry.
Everybody who works in cat claims knows how rampant fraud is, and the majority of insured\’s believe the insurer\’s are ripping them off. This product will keep both sides honest, virtually eliminating fraud… This is huge!
Video verification will provide undeniable verification for the adjuster to refer to, causing examiners to feel greater confidence in approvals, causing significantly reduced man hours in the adjusting process… huge!
As an indeopendent who has worked cat off and on since 1978, please explain why a carrier would use someone with zero claims experience to hanlde their claims? Can you not video the contents and take still photographs? I always take many photos and personally would not like to give up the pay on the schedule. And how would you feel about the contents only adjuster getting paid 3-5 times what you get paid to work the real property? I see this going the way of the restoration contractors if it gets a foothold. I do see your points and also as originally stated, the working of inventroies is always one of the dreaded tasks.

Kelly Johnson is the VP of Scope. It\’s interesting- if you read the executive bios on their website, it seems that none of them have insurance or adjusting experience prior to this of any sort. Now I know they\’re going for a different approach, and call me crazy, but doesn\’t it seem as though that might be an issue?
seems to me, that the 1.2 billion puts them right in the middle… 5 years with more claims and 4 with less….. shouldnt be any need to raise rates then….. HA… im sure they will find a way.
