She cares soooooo much for children, whose parents are heedlessly running over them while backing up. No one cares like she does. After all, it\’s for the children.

Another shinning example of the ever increasing Nanny State.
As the article pointed out these items are available as options. How many people bought them.

How about an audio warning device, such as those used by garbage trucks, that would beep, or even \”speak\” and could be set so the gears would be locked for 5 seconds or so while the warning was sounding. I know it couldn\’t prevent all incidents but I think it could in a good percentage – it sounds like the cameras don\’t work all that well anyway, and an audio device would probably be alot cheaper.
I think the window auto-reverse is a good idea – I\’m surprised they didn\’t do this a long time ago. I have never bought a car with power windows just for this reason.

Better yet, just require all driveways to be built in a circular pattern, then you would always be driving out instead of backing out! I chose not to have children so I would never find myself backing over them.

I agree with Shelby that if these are options, why aren\’t the parents opting for them? What\’s next baby seats put into every vehicle?

I suppose Insurance premiums will go up for people who do NOT have these options installed in their cars. With or without children.
