Even when they’re insured Lloyds disputes the claims. See the Las Vegas Wynn claim article from a year ago on here.

the value of art is a colossal joke foisted upon the unwitting population by a small number of arrogant, snooty, wealthy folks who assign astronomical values to riduculous paintings by dead people. What constitutes value in art? Monet had terrible vision hence his paintings were blurred. So what? Why do the paintings of a few artists command so much money? Because a few morons have too much money and want to pad their egos by buying one.

Well it is not about arrogant rich people, if you get to see original art works by Picasso or other famous painters you will feel aura about these works and they really are beautiful, most people perceive them as such and many of them would like to have them, sadly there are only few available, hence the price.
