Hurricane Katrina Fraud Case Set for Trial in February

November 28, 2012

A Mississippi man is scheduled for trial Feb. 4 on Hurricane Katrina fraud charges.

Anthony L. Bryan is charged with fraudulently obtaining more than $97,000 for a house he claimed was his primary residence when Katrina hit in 2005.

He has pleaded not guilty in U.S. District Court in Gulfport.

The Oct. 16 indictment says Bryan created a bill of sale to make it appear he owned and lived in the Bay St. Louis house.

Prosecutors allege that the house was not his primary residence.
