Hopefully the CDC report makes more sense because the numbers provided here are inadequate to draw this conclusion. If 42% of those those who died were not wearing a helmet, that means 58% WERE wearing their helmet. The bikers I have spoken to who prefer to not wear a helmet say that doing so severely limits their ability to see & hear hazzards so they can avoid the crash in the first place.
