San Diego, CA, December 2, 2014– Atlas General Insurance Services, LLC, a national multi-line program manager, announces the expansion of its Texas presence with the hiring of key marketing and underwriting personnel.
Kristen Hakala has been promoted to underwriting manager for the Dallas office. In her position, Hakala will focus on growing Atlas workers’ compensation programs in Texas as well as the central and eastern regions. Hakala, who relocated to Dallas from San Diego, will work closely with Atlas’ central and eastern marketing and underwriting teams to further develop Atlas’ workers’ compensation offerings.
Other key hires in Texas include Robert Bienvenu, Deborah Currie and Eddie Madrigal. Bienvenu will serve as the new vice president of marketing, central region. He comes to Atlas with over 25 years of marketing, claims and underwriting knowledge. Bienvenu has extensive workers’ compensation experience, most recently with Patriot National Insurance Group, prior to serving LUBA and Employers Insurance Group.
Currie joins Atlas with nearly 25 years of marketing and workers’ compensation experience. She most recently worked for U.S. Specialty Insurance and previously Employers Insurance Group. Currie has special focus on the Texas market and serves on many local, regional and state-wide insurance committees.
Madrigal joins Atlas as an underwriter focused on commercial package and general liability products. He will be based out of Atlas’ expanding Dallas office. Madrigal has over 10 years of underwriting and marketing experience across commercial and workers’ compensation lines of business. Most recently, he worked for MJ Kelly and Brazos Specialty Risk.
