Allstate Employee in Alabama Going to Prison for Mail Fraud

A federal judge in Birmingham has sentenced a former Allstate Insurance Company employee to 12 months in prison for multiple counts of mail fraud.

U.S. District Judge Inge Johnson sentenced 34-year-old Monica Marshall of Brighton.

Marshall pleaded guilty to 11 counts of mail fraud.

Prosecutors said she admitted arranging to send more than $43,000 in reimbursement checks to three individuals who then paid her a kickback.

Three others involved in the fraud pleaded guilty to felony conspiracy charges.

Marshall, who must report to prison in August, was ordered to repay the money to Allstate.
