Kentucky Man Faces Insurance Fraud Charges

Kentucky officials indicted a Louisville man on a felony count of insurance fraud after allegedly submitting an altered receipt for nearly $4,000 to State Farm Fire and Casualty Co.

Robert L. Whiteside, 39, presented a receipt was for chrome rims and tires he claimed were stolen during a burglary at his home, according to court records

Whiteside faces a maximum prison sentence of five years and/or a fine of $10,000. A pretrial conference is set for Jan. 7 in Jefferson Circuit Court.

The case against Whiteside was developed by the Insurance Fraud Investigation Division of the Kentucky Office of Insurance, an agency of the Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet.
