Paul Davis Restoration Named General Contractor for DIY to the Rescue Series

Paul Davis Restoration Inc., a Jacksonville-based franchisor of insurance restoration and remodeling general contractors, has been selected to serve as general contractor on DIY to the Rescue, a television series produced by Rivr Media, for the DIY Network. DIY is a sister network to Home and Garden Television (HGTV) and owned by Scripps Networks.

The series features a general contractor and hosts Amy Devers, Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Furniture Design, and Karl Champley, Master Builder, working with homeowners who are in over their heads on botched home repairs, remodels and domestic do-it-yourself jobs. Each show helps homeowners finish problem projects and learn home improvement skills.

Paul Davis Restoration has been a provider in residential and commercial loss mitigation, reconstruction, restoration and remodeling services since 1966.

“We are very fortunate to have been selected as general contractor and talent on camera during upcoming tapings for DIY to the Rescue, along with opportunities to provide our expertise for other shows as well,” said Ken Sussex, Paul Davis Restoration’s executive director of Strategic Marketing.

The shows will feature helpful tips to viewers on a variety of home repair projects that have been left unfinished or gone wrong. Some program topics include reorganizing and renovating closets or garages, updating a child’s playroom, creating a pet or child-safe space, retro-fitting a home for handicapped accessibility, converting a guest bedroom into a home office, hanging drywall and building bookshelves.

Location scouting in Jacksonville, Fla., Charleston, S.C. and Knoxville, Tenn. will be held early in the year with program tapings in the spring and early summer. Shows will air in late 2006.
