3,100 Without Power Due to Storms in Arkansas

More than 3,100 Entergy Arkansas customers remain without power after severe thunderstorms knocked down trees and power lines in parts of Arkansas.

There were no reports of injuries from Wednesday’s storms.

The power company’s website said Thursday morning that nearly 2,100 of the outages are in Drew County in southeastern Arkansas where authorities say nearly two dozen trees were blown down in Monticello – including one onto a parked car. Monticello police say no one was hurt.

Officials report that a barn also was blown down north of Monticello. Trees and power lines were brought down in Crossett in neighboring Ashley County.

There also was a report of shingles blown off a home and a roof blown off a dog kennel in Milltown in Sebastian County in western Arkansas.
