Sedgwick Announces Appointments

Sedgwick has appointed a chief client officer, a president for specialty solutions and new claims team members in Hawaii.

Scott Rodgers was appointed chief client officer for the Memphis, Tenn. based claims company. He most recently served as as group president of client services.

Rogers will continue to work with leading employers through the Sedgwick client services and practice leaders who oversee the delivery of the company’s solutions. He will now also manage a team of global business development leaders in property, casualty, workforce absence and specialty areas—such as managed care, affinity, public entity and pooling, the company said in a press release.

Rogers holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

Elizabeth Francy Demaret was promoted to the role of president, specialty solutions at Sedgwick.

Demaret has been with Sedgwick for eight years, most recently serving as chief of staff and executive vice president of carrier relations. In that capacity, she also collaborated with international operations and mergers and acquisitions teams to support the expansion into key geographies and acquisitions, as well as new product development strategies.

Demaret is taking on the executive leadership responsibility for all of Sedgwick’s specialty solutions, including the special investigations unit, Medicare set-asides, risk consulting and Occupational Safety and Health Administration compliance, risk control, premium audit, pooling, professional liability, subrogation, captives, credit card and warranty services, Sedgwick said.

Demaret served as the first female chair of the World Federation of Insurance Intermediaries (WFII). She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics, political science and urban studies from the University of Richmond.

Sedgwick appointed Dereck Driggs as claims manager and executive general director and Mike DiLisa as as regional general adjuster at its new Oahu, Hawaii branch.. Sedgwick’s property and loss adjusting team offers global expertise in property insurance claims and solutions for commercial and residential markets.

Driggs brings to Sedgwick more than 12 years in the claims industry, with specialization in areas such as commercial property, large and complex losses, agriculture and farming, habitational (condos and apartments), hospitality and resorts. His professional experience includes work as a large loss field adjuster, national general adjuster, and executive general adjuster, Sedgwick said.

DiLisa brings seven years of experience to the organization. He has held roles such as estimator and project manager, as well as account executive and district manager. His claims expertise is in commercial and residential property, retail, food service and restaurants, hospitality and resorts, and construction and engineering.

Crawford Contractor Connection Appoints VP for Commercial Services

Crawford & Co. announced the appointment of Drew Wendland as vice president of commerical services for its Contractor Connection division.

Wendland will report to Lance Malcolm, US president for Contractor Connection. In this new role, he will support the overall development and growth of commercial-focused products and services in alignment with Crawford’s strategic initiatives.

Wendland brings nearly 20 years of experience to the position. Prior to joining Contractor Connection, he worked at American Technologies Inc. as regional manager for Los Angeles and at McLarens as vice president.

Crawford & Co. is headquartered in Atlanta. Its Contractor Connection division, created in 1999, manages a network of independent contractors.
