A used car dealer in New Jersey has been sentenced to three years in prison for selling vehicles damaged in Superstorm Sandy to unsuspecting customers.
Jonathan Olin of Manalapan admitted orchestrating a scheme in which a Motor Vehicles Commission employee created clean titles for eight vehicles that sustained flood damage. Seven of them were sold.
The 42-year-old former operator of D&D Auto Sales in Old Bridge also was ordered to pay full restitution to his victims.
The MVC technician was sentenced to probation and community service in October.
