IBA San Diego Hosts Luncheon Discussion August 17th 2011: “State of the Reinsurance Industry—How Changes Could Affect the Agent and Insured!”

San Diego, August 8, 2011 – The Insurance Brokers & Agents of San Diego in partnership with the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation’s San Diego Steering Committee, will be hosting a lunch discussion on August 17, 2011 with guest speaker Robert Reader, Managing Director of Guy Carpenter & Company. The presentation will focus on the current state of global reinsurance and how changes might impact primary insurance markets and the agents that represent them.

Rob will be discussing today’s reinsurance industry; the reinsurance broker’s approach to solving complex risk issues for insurance companies; and how these changes could ultimately affect the insurance agent and ultimate insured.

The luncheon will be held on Wednesday, August 17th at the Handlery Hotel, 950 Hotel Circle North in San Diego. Registration begins at 11:50 am and lunch and discussion start at 12:00 pm. Cost is $35.00 per person for IBA members and $45 for non-members. Five dollars from every registration will be donated to the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation.

Robert is a Managing Director of Guy Carpenter & Company, LLC in their Glendale office. He is a third generation insurance broker, with 25 years property and casualty underwriting and broker experience. Rob has held underwriting, marketing and business development roles in his career. He has an MBA from the University of Southern California in Finance. Rob is married, has two daughters, and currently resides in Tustin Ranch, California.
