SAN DIEGO – September 11, 2008 – The MyNewMarkets.com Exchange format is proving to be a winning formula for retail agents who need markets and P&C markets who need agents.
Billed as an insurance “market fair” the networking event is an ideal tool to help agents and markets alike grow their business.
The best word to describe the event, “would be ‘intimacy’,” said Brian Bourbonnais of Superior Access Insurance Services, one of the vendors at the last Exchange held on September 4th in San Diego, CA. “I like the fact it is not a trade show, it is an exchange, exactly what you called it, being able to sit down and actually work with quality clients,” Bourbonnais said.
“I was able to do great business here,” Bourbonnais commented, referring to the number of appointments he made during the day to meet with agents who wanted access to his coverages and programs. “I got quite a few [appointments] actually already set up today and a couple tomorrow and some scheduled for Monday. So it was a very successful show, the best I have been to.”
Agents and brokers were similarly impressed with the format of the Exchange networking event. “I have been a broker for over 12 years,” said Phil Duncan, Chief Operations Officer for Pipeline Insurance. “Insurance is a relationship business, so when people see your face, it just strengthens it [the relationship], and they are more prone to give you the quote,” Duncan said. “If you are new to this business and are looking to become successful and you need help…use [this] resource that has been put together for you.”
The next Exchange conference is scheduled for September 30th from 9:00am to 2:00pm at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, TX between Dallas and Fort Worth.
Attendance is free (free lunch included) for qualifying agents and brokers while participating markets pay to staff “trading desks” equipped with high speed internet access and electrical power.
An Exchange conference has also been scheduled for February 4, 2009 in Los Angeles, CA.
