When are they going to start requiring seatbelts on buses. I never understood that. Private passenger autos it’s law, but not on school buses. Doesn’t make sense to me.

    ACE,

It’s about money. Twenty years ago, when
I was just graduated, this issue came up.
But nothing has ever been done.
    We are told the following:
“There just isn’t enough money to refit
every school bus with seatbelts. With the
rise in gas prices, we can’t afford it.”

If the politicians would spend money on
important things as these, instead of their own “pork projects”, our children
    would be a lot safer.

Yeah, I know it’s about money…I guess my real question is “What could be more important to spend money on than something that could save children’s lives?” It seems that the number of bus crashes & accidents is increasing. You’re seeing more and more of them on the news…and if the bus has an interior camera then you can see how much the children get thrashed around and thrown to the ceiling. Really scary to watch.
