The Insurance Scholarship Foundation of America Announces the 2006-2007 Board of Directors and Officers.

Susanne N. Wolfe, CPIW of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. – Greenville Is Named Chairman

Cornelius, NC – The NAIW Education Foundation d.b.a. Insurance Scholarship Foundation of America elected their Board of Directors, and Officers, for the upcoming year at their tri-annual meeting in Spokane, Washington, May 18-19, 2006. The new term for the new Directors and Officers will start on 1 July, 2006. The Foundation Board is comprised of insurance executives from across the nation who are committed to the ISFA’s mission of promoting excellence in the insurance industry by underwriting the education of current and future employees. They are strong advocates of promoting “Excellence through Education”. Through their civic, professional and personal associations, they directly inspire and influence others to support the foundation by making private philanthropic gifts, grants and endowments to support the junior and senior students majoring or minoring in Insurance, Risk Management, or Actuarial Science and provide professional scholarships to men and women employed in the insurance industry who are pursuing certification programs or attending education programs and seminars that will provide current information on technology, regulatory information, and other relevant courses that will serve the industry and it’s clients. ISFA is the only Foundation to offer the insurance industry both academic and professional scholarships that are this diverse.

Susanne N. Wolfe, CPIW will serve as the Chair of the Board. Susanne is an Area Vice President for Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. – Greenville, SC. Her responsibilities as a Commercial Account Manager include marketing new and renewal accounts. Susanne served as NAIW National President 1991-1992. She is a member of the Greenville Association of Insurance Women – Region III. Susanne has been on the Foundation’s Board for 3 years and was the Vice-Chairman this year. Susanne is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and holds the Certified Insurance Woman (CPIW) designation. Susanne looks forward to a year of growth and stability as she brings a strong fiscal perspective to all areas of the Foundation. She succeeds Nancy Noe-Nichols, Sr. Vice President of Zurich Insurance Services, who will chair ISFA’s Development Committee.

Curt Nichols, CPCU will serve as Vice Chair. Curt is the Assistant Vice President of Ohio Casualty Group, in Fairfield, OH. He is responsible for Personal Liability product development and Decision Support. Curt has served on the Board as a member of the Finance and Scholarship Review Committees. Most recently he has served as Board Liaison on the College Scholarship Committee. Curt believes in growth and a collaborative mindset that will allow ISFA to work with all professional associations and academic institutions that support the insurance industry. He has been a strong advocate of education within the insurance industry for many years and looks forward to serving as Vice Chair while continuing to bring in development grants and endowments.

Claudette Kenmir, CPCU, CIC, CPIW will serve as ISFA’s board Secretary. Claudette is the Vice President, National Sales Center Leader, of Safeco Insurance Company in Liberty Lake, WA. She has served on the ISFA Board for two years serving on the Governance Committee and Search Committee. Claudette brings a strong committed focus to ISFA and believes in our vision to be the largest and most recognized provider of insurance-related scholarships in America!

Paul D. Andrews – Paul is the Senior Vice President, Corporate Services Division, for Horace Mann Companies in Springfield, IL. Paul brings a strong HR background to ISFA along with a strong sense of commitment to education within the industry. Paul has served on our Board for 3 years, and served on ISFA’s Search Committee. Paul provides stability and efficacy to ISFA’s processes and policies.

Thomas (Tom) W. Crawford – Tom is the President & CEO of Crawford and Company located in Atlanta, GA. Tom, a new Board member is a nationally known entrepreneurial leader in the financial services industry. Tom currently serves on the University of Georgia’s Terry School of Business Advisory Board and the Executive Management Cabinet for General Agents and Managers Association along with his seat on ISFA’s Board of Directors. Tom believes in opportunities and growth through education within this Industry. He brings a wealth of knowledge and a network of colleagues throughout this industry to make things happen. We welcome his entrepreneurial skills and positive focus to this Board.

Kirk A. Goeldner, CPCU – Kirk is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Canal Insurance Company in Greenville, SC, where for the past five years he has championed a dynamic transformation in the operations of Canal. Kirk was elected to ISFA’s Board last year. He is currently on ISFA’s Marketing Committee.

Christine L. Lewis, Ph D., CPCU, CLU, ChFC, ARP, RHU – Dr. Lewis is Senior Vice President and Corporate Secretary of the American Institute for CPCU/ Insurance Institute of America in Malvern, PA. She heads the Institutes’ Curriculum Department Chris has been a Board member for six years and is passionate about education within this industry. Chris served as Chair of the Scholarship Committee and as a member of the Marketing and Finance Committees.

Nancy Noe-Nichols, ARM, CPIW – Nancy is the Senior Vice President, Zurich Insurance Services, Inc. in Jacksonville, FL. Nancy has been on the Board of ISFA for 8 years and has been the Chairman of the Board for the last 5 years. She has seen ISFA through many successful transitional phases. While she is stepping down as the Chairman she will be heading up the new Development Committee taking ISFA to its next level of visibility and sustainability.

Kim J. O’Conor, PMP – Kim is a Strategic Program Manager with Zurich in North America based in Baltimore, MD. Her current responsibilities are the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and close out of strategic programs for Zurich. She recently received her Project Management Professional designation. Kim has served on the ISFA Board for 6 years and is our Finance Committee Chair.

Carole Shelton – Carole is the Executive Director of the Independent Insurance Agents of Houston in Houston, TX. Carole has been on the ISFA Board for 2 years and will chair the College and Professional Scholarship Selection Committees.

Marcia Tepp, AIAF, ARM, ARP, CPCU, CPIW – Marcia is Vice President – Transportation for Sentry Insurance in Stevens Point, WI. Marcia has served on the ISFA Board for 4 years and currently serves on the Finance Committee.
