We are still awaiting a response from SoCalGas as to why we were never contacted in regards to this disaster. They have so far refused to answer our emails inquiring about this. We believe the disaster could have been ended within days using our ‘state of the art’ technology that was announced in 2013. Instead they attempted to use 50 year old methods that were proven to fail in the 2010 Gulf disaster.
Also, who is their insurance company(s) and why should they be stuck with the bill for this, if they didn’t try every possible way to mitigate damages? Why should they now have to pay out $1B, when they may only have had to pay much less (had the proper technology been used to stop the leak)?
