Pedestrian, Traffic Fatalities Prompt Community Meeting in Vegas

    Tragically, many of these accidents involved older drivers. This is a politically difficult problem, but statistically a very significant safety issue. It deserves study and it deserves very open discussion if the pedestrian fatality rate is going to be brought down.

    High speed limits on roadways and frequency of DUI are obvious causes that are easier to address — driver age (especially at night) is a much tougher issue to bring change to.
