Myself and several other attorneys filed charges against Bennet Kelley the self-professed “Internet Attorney” and there was nothing ever done about his unethical behavior. Cybersquatting, malicious prosecution, false information upon the court, vexatious litigation, etc.,
Calfornia Bar needs to prosecute a few of these crazy attorneys who lie about anything and everything just to appear successful. Bennet Kelley has sour grapes. Bennet Kelley is a bigot and has tweeted out very derogatory remarks about different ethnic groups.
The model for regulation of public service companies (individuals and corps) is licensing fees and taxes collected to fund a state agency such as the Dept of Real Estate, or Dept of Insurance. It makes sense for the same or similar thing to happen as Dept of Law, and Dept of Finance for accountants, and Dept of Medicine for physicians. No professional group has successfully protected either it’s honest members reputations or the public against criminals. Not that the State has done a great job either,
but information about the Bar Association and Medical Boards suggests they are failing even worse
than the State ever did.
Professor Peter Keane of GGU certainly knows what he’s talking about. I don’t see a system dominated by lawyers ever voting to give up control over anything.
