Washington Deputy Acquitted of Insurance Fraud

October 30, 2014

A Spokane, Wash., sheriff’s deputy accused of filing false claims for snow damage has been acquitted of insurance fraud charges.

A jury in Spokane returned the acquittal Tuesday for Deputy Jeremey B. Jeske after a two-day trial.

His lawyer, Rob Cossey, told The Spokesman-Review the case should not have gone to trial.

The claims were field in April for snow damage to a trailer Jeske was storing near Priest Lake, Idaho, and to a carport in Davenport.

Jeske has been on paid leave during the case. It was prosecuted by the state attorney general’s office.
