Wyoming regulators have fined a modular home construction company more than $15,000 in the death of a worker last year in Grand Teton National Park.
The Jackson Hole News & Guide reports that the state Department of Workforce Services cited and fined Wardcraft Homes.
In January 2012, 33-year-old carpenter Bryon Peck fell and died while installing doors at a park employee housing unit.
State investigators attributed the accident to a combination of factors, including his supervisor failing to heed warnings that scaffolding Peck was using that day was not safe.
Inspectors cited Wardcraft for using scaffolding that didn’t meet industry standards, not using proper safety precautions for employees working more than 10 feet above the ground as well as other violations.
