Bail $3.5M for Teen in Nevada Crash That Killed 5

A judge set bail at $3.5 million for a California teenager accused of driving under the influence and causing a weekend crash that killed five family members on a southern Nevada freeway.

Moapa Justice of the Peace Ruth Kolhoss on Monday scheduled arraignment April 10 for 18-year-old Jean Soriano.

Soriano was arrested after the crash about 3 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 15 about 60 miles northeast of Las Vegas.

A police report says he told a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper he had “too many” beers before starting to drive to Las Vegas.

The five killed were from Los Angeles, Lynwood and Norwalk, Calif.

The NHP says they were in a van that was hit from behind by an SUV driven by Soriano.

Soriano and three other people also were injured in the crash.
