New Mexico Station Issued Emergency Zombie Alerts

A New Mexico television station sent out an official emergency alert this week warning people that dangerous zombies were attacking.

KRQE-TV reports that the KENW in Portales was among several around the country whose emergency alert systems were hacked.

As a result, it put out an alert on Monday saying, “Local authorities in your area have reported the bodies of the dead are rising from their graves and attacking the living. Do not attempt to approach or apprehend these bodies as they are considered extremely dangerous.”

The station says it appears the stations had not updated the passwords on their EAS systems, making them easy targets.

KRQE also reminds viewers that while the alert was fake, if there is a real zombie attack, the only way to kill a zombie is to sever its head.
