The state has to consider putting in place a comprehensive legal cost control program and the sooner the better. It is simply called oversight and every govenment entity is subject to it so why not the WCIRB that is the question that needs answering before this situation gets even further out of control. Every insurance company has some form of legal cost control program some are very good and others are mediocre. There are many mediocre programs that have been put into place using very elementary E-Billing companies that sell basic software programs with some bells and whistles that make you feel good put generally produce very little in th way of meaningful metrics and fundamental analytics. There websites and slick sales presentations say one thing put check out there references thoroughly and truth will usually come out even through most clients do not like to emit they made a mistake. Before you engage the services of one of these E-Billing companies aske to see one of their onerous contracts. My comany founded the legal audting industry 28 in 1985 and have not nd do not require contracts only a simple letter of understanding as to what you can expect from us and what we inturn expect from you and should we decide that we can’t work together a simple 30 day written notice is required from either party. So let’s stop the out of control legal fees and documented expenses and put a program in place going forward and I believe the WCIRB should seriously consider having a retrospective audit performed on fees already paid going back at least 3 years. There is no excuse for not adhering to proper billing protocols thst have been set forth by law and those that may be in place by the WCIRB.

In my simple points of view, there is a need for a change. As the time passes, the economy also changes. The medical fees before are not the same as of today. Maybe, that is one of the reasons of the insurer’s loss.
