Greedy people. You don’t retroactively change the law just because they want more money. If the government agrees to do this it should be replaced.

Greedy is right! Even at $200M, 25 people would each get $8M….most of them were not going to make that in their lifetime.

What are you talking about?? The train ran a red light and KILLED 25 people. Many others were injured, probably seriously and some permanently. So the pool of victims is greater than 25 and the attorneys will get at least 30% of the $200M. Would your mother, father, daughter, or son be worth any amount of money to you? The judgement is is partly to compensate victims, but also to punish the wrongdoer. $200M is a drop in the bucket for the railroad.

While it is tragic and the award will be spread out over many people, I’d be willing to bet they will soon get over it with
$4MM to $5MM in their pockets.

Soon “get over it”??? I can’t believe the people that post on this blog. I hope you never have to “get over” losing someone you love or caring from them during an extended and serious injury. You people are heartless.
