What idiot came up with this suggestion? Once a spinning saw blade comes into contact with skin, it’s too freakin’ late to prevent an injury. If you’re using a table saw you’re pushing the board forward into the blade. NOTHING will prevent you from losing a couple fingers it you don’t focus on what you’re doing.
actually, Jester, they have perfected a sensor that will actually stop the saw blade instantly upon contact with skin – and minimal or no damage.
but I have no idea if the cost is acceptable on the price of a table saw. I bought a pretty good table saw for $200 – – -. I bet it will cost a little more with this technology. and it’s more Big Brother at work. no wonder Californaia is deep in the red with this king of thinking.
