Hawaii High School Fire Deemed Intentional

Hawaii authorities believe a fire at a central Oahu high school was intentionally set.

Fire officials investigating Sunday evening’s fire at Mililani High School’s athletic field turned the case over to police, who have opened an arson probe.

KHON-TV reports this is the second time in two months a fire has been set at the stadium, which is undergoing renovations.

School officials tell Hawaii News Now gasoline from a nearby all-terrain vehicle may have been used to ignite the blaze.

Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports a fire department spokesman says construction materials and a box with contractor tools in it were burning when firefighters arrived.
